Canadian based, English born and most recently performing in New York City. After emigrating, Cari found solace in classical voice and studied privately for well over a decade. Cari completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance at the University of British Columbia.
Studying a range of subjects however focusing most on Devised Theatre Performance and Theatre History. Cari’s utter adoration of Language, Poetry and Philosophy transcend, lifting Deevah Craig into new and thoughtful heights. By allowing herself to think outside the box when tackling classical art forms, she consequently invites her audience to better connect with Opera.
Cari deeply considers what makes Opera so interesting to her and subtly ‘geeks out’ with her audience. Warmly welcoming each viewer into a World that was perhaps not previously understood or perceived as approachable. Cari,Deevah, consequently extends her insight and fully intends to culminate a performance which is an interesting and completely accessible experience.
Feeling feminine, strong, and regal; Deevah implores herself to be a graceful, grateful, an eloquent empowerer and an intriguing, informative and educational storyteller.
Sharing insights ranging from musical terminology, training methods, educational techniques, singer essentials and factual sweet nothings, and then sweetly shows her audience an inside scoop. Cari .
She holds a belief that artistic chain reactions effortlessly occur: (ie. Puccini’s Opera: La Boheme -> Queen’s Song: Bohemian Rhaspody) and so titling herself fully appropriate.
